The Fashion Air is the same as a Backscratcher except that you also throw your back hand up for a vanity pose. Its kind of a cheesy trick (really old school stuff), but I look to do it just to get some laughs from the boat.
It actually looks easy, but you actually need to keep in mind certain things especially if you’re doing it over 2 wakes. Cut in progressively and at the wake, pop up and curl your leg back. While you’re doing this, you need to compensate the leg curl by arching your upper body back as well. If you don’t do this, you’ll probably get pulled forward and get a faceplant. Also, its important to keep your handle arm in and low to avoid being pulled forward.
Once you’ve struck your pose, just relax and land as normal but crouch down a little, keeping your handle arm in as there is usually a jerk in the rope.
Also, if you’re going to throw this trick, do it right. Many people just pull their knees up to their chest, but its not the same thing. You need to really curl the board behind you, keeping your knees pointed down and your hips straight. Else, it will really look cheesy then.
